Artist's Description

Once in the possession of the razor and as Nonno Michele was asked to perform his "duties ", he slashed the prison officer, who later died of his injuries. Nonno Michele was sentenced to a more remote prison with a death penalty sentence. On his journey there, he was able to escape with other prisoners and spent the next twenty five years as a fugitive in Argentina, Brazil,Bolivia and Columbia, all the while avoiding capture and eventually making his way back to the (now enlarged) Aquaro family in Forenza, Italy, where he settled and died a peacefull death in his 80's......A depiction from stories and recordings by his (long suffering) wife and my grandmother Filomena.

My only regret is that I did not take scans or photos of the pieces, now scattered all...
