Artist's Description

Fishpool Street leads from St Albans city to Verulamium park, the name for the old Roman settlement. Alban was a Roman soldier who converted to Christianity and was beheaded for his faith...on the site where the Cathedral was built....making him the first English martyr. All St Albans roads lead to....Verulamium!!!! This was painted in 2004 with initial sketches and washes taken during a very cold winter's day.
